Cartoonist Johnny Hart, whose award-winning “B.C.” comic strip appeared in more than 1,300 newspapers worldwide, died at his home on Saturday. He was 76.

Johnny Hart was a HUGE influence on me when I was in my teens, trying to become some sort of cartoonist…his work to this day still has an influence on me and my style, and he will be missed. The source.

I saw this news late last night and had to look up some of his work for old times sake. I used to ready the dailies in the paper everyday, but have pretty much switched to webcomics completely these days. However, I always looked forward to B.C. because Hart tackled so many of the big questions. Plus, his style was incredible. His characters were unlike anything else on the page. I think Grog was always my favorite…

yeah, BC was one of the few comics that i would frequently cut out of the newspaper to keep.
    Rest in peace…

Sad news this, he was a great cartoonist. I read he died while drawing.

A good man, a great cartoonist, and a exemplar Christian. Enjoy eternity, Johnny. See you on the other side.

I hope they gave him a B.C. style headstone. Maybe a stone wheel or something.

This was one of the first cartoon strips that I remember reading regularly as a kid.
