That was very well done. Probably the best trailer for a movie that doesn’t actually exist that I’ve seen since “Grayson”

  2. ktog

Yea, not sure how long it took the guy to make that trailer, but an awesome effort. With something like this being done by a fan, makes you wonder what it would look like if an actual movie company did it.

  3. Darth_yoda (UK)

But what is also interesting is that the person that was the head of art for the game Gears of War is also involved with this film. Check it out here:

  4. Carver

    @ktog It would probably suck.

  5. Darth_yoda (UK)

    WTF… this is a fake trailer!”£$%^&*&^%$%&YU*IHYTFDSW…………

Can’t believe I actually thought that was what the film was going to be like!

From what it says in the bit-tech link it looks like the film is going to be all computer animation.

  6. NeuroMan42

Ya ever notice how fans make better movies than Hollywood these days.

  7. MikeC

I liked the simpleness of the vision of the characters. Not special latex applica-s or bulking bodysuits.

    Great effort.

  8. evirus

that actually took me a minute to realize that it was edited, vary well done.

  9. Crimson Fox Corporate Video

A lot of work went into that one.

I like how they also used filler footage from movies like Aliens

  10. TheChao

    Starring Garfield as Snarf!

  11. mefe

this looks cool but totally cheesy for this era, am i the only one who noted the spy kids seen in this trailer????

  12. Brad

Took me a full minute before I realized it was fan made.

  13. Holm

DON’T TEASE ME LIKE THAT!!! :-)

  14. Bonnie

I should have realized it was fake when the bad guys were the same ones as in Galaxy Quest. Fan made=total awesome. But all I can say is thank goodness this is not a real film. I remember the He-Man movie, is all I’m saying.

  15. WizePapaSmurf

    I saw Garfield

I laughed and passed it off.

    Excellent editing.

  16. TD

Yeah I saw Garfield and cracked up. Though I have to say, my all time favorite fake movie trailer had to be for Legend of Zelda (which I’m ironically playing this week)

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nswlCVqsm8o

    Now back to saving Hyrule!

  17. fat_santa54

wow I didnt realize it was fake untill I saw the edited brad pitt on the beach holding his sword, even then thats still really good.

  18. Biff

I started rofl’ing as soon as I saw the Knight from Indiana Jones.

  19. idogis1

looks like it took a lot of work. really good job I didn’t realize it was fake until they started showing clips from the Chronicles of Riddic, which seams to be a popular movie for fake movie trailers, check out the Neon Genesis Evangelion trailer.

  20. BlueNight

    That… was… AWESOME!!!

From now on, for each film created from an 80′s pop culture property, there must be a council of fans in consultation.

At least half of this council MUST have written a fanfiction of an 80′s property, and at least one must have been on the property in question. At least half must be able to recognize the top three hero characters and the main villain by name OR voice OR appearance alone.

At least half MUST agree to major changes in plot or characterization for the project to go forward. Optimus Prime crawling around on his hands and knees trying to hide like E.T. is NOT going to cut it from now on.

  21. Solstar

wow ..you didn’t noticed its a fake?its even written in the green advice screen before the trailer:
“the following FAKE trailer is suitable “etc..

  22. Cyclone1969

Solstar hardly anyone reads that green screen anymore :P

There’s also a Madmax clip in there love it lots of effort went into this trailer kudos to wormy and co

  23. Cantonkid

Too bad it’s not the real cast. Pretty good choices for the characters.

  24. Rico

That took a lot of work. Hats off to them.

  25. Tr00matt

That was really funny. The IGN Zelda movie trailer was a much better fool, as they actually filmed the trailer, so they have you thinking it’s a real movie.

  26. HalfDrunkDude

as soon as i saw brad pitt holding the sword up from “Troy” i was thinkin it was fishy, then i saw Vin sitting down and i thought Riddick, then i saw Hugh, and it looked too much like wolvie and then i was like “three strikes you’re out” good fake though.

  27. mercator

a well composed fraud. I thought it was real enough until the obvious troy footage “we are lions.” I had my suspicions thinking sure vin diesel could use the work, but not the others…

  28. Eric

The only one I see not doing something like this is Pitt. He’s starting to go for political and “real” epic stuff. I don’t see cartoons (or live-action variants) in his future. The other three, though? Possibly, given either their acting histories or off-screen personalities. Together? Hmmm. That would be a really interesting match with well-defined contrasts. Oh well.

  29. Sebastiaan van Dijk

    so much free time..

nice cast of Gigi Egledgy (spelling?!) from Farscape though.

  30. thorspower

I was thinking that actually looks like a really good Hercules/Zena/Legend of the Seeker’ ish TV series spot. It has that campiness that we all seem to love.

  31. trebblebase

amazing. very clever with the make up overlay (or wateva the term is) if only they did make a real movie wud be kinda neat ^^

  32. WarlockJA

I don’t like fake movie trailers, but this was nicely done… Don’t tease me like that though!

  33. Tolwyn

Once I saw the explosion of that Klingon Moon from Undiscovered Country, I knew it was fake.

  34. Erich the Mad Bassist

Speaking as a semi-authority (check out my site,) there needs to be a Thundercats movie, preferably directed by Bryan Singer.

That was a nice effort, bravo!

  35. Colin

WTF? that is the lamest thing i have ever seen.

  36. Xalver

Lol, definitely an interesting fake, Farscape, Spy Kids, Galaxy Quest, Stargate, Troy, Garfield, Undiscovered Country, Chronicles of Riddik, but they disguised a lot of it quite well. Didn’t make me want to see the fake movie though, they failed in that sense.

  37. Blackwood

Fake trailers are lame but this one is pretty well done. Much stuff has been used like Aliens, XMEN and so on :)

I posted this on the forums a few days ago
