While the game has potential I don’t like how EA is handling it by censoring/banning people that make supposedly ‘offensive’ creatures.

I can already smell an expansion-pack with ‘more creatures’ or ‘more stuff’ like they did with ‘The sims’. Not that it would be ‘bad’, but given that the game has so much potential for user-created content it still is EA and that means they’re going to find a way to limit content to whatever we buy from them.

And then there’s the DRM-system that was used in Mass Effect, Bioshock and probably in Spore as well. Limited internet-based activations are just not a good idea. Especially when they are under no obligation to maintain the servers and there’s no way I’m going to trust EA to provide a patch that disables this ‘feature’ in the future.

Sorry Will Wright … I know it was a real challenge to get Spore up and running, but I’m not buying it because of EA’s actions.

I was looking forward to Spore, but since EA is corrupt beyond all human measure, I’ve decided to decline. SecuROM is a blight upon humanity and EA simply doesn’t care whether it harms its loyal customers.

I tried playing The Sims 2 last night, but couldn’t get past the neighborhood screen. I felt as if I was playing a game created not by honest programmers, but by criminals with dollar signs in their eyes. Sad, really…
