You mean the 1984 classic “Runaway” starring Tom Selleck? Written and directed by Michael Crichton, also starring Gene Simmons based solely on Gene staring down Crichton?

It’s a fraking brilliant movie. And yes, the Little Dog does remind me of those creepy little spider robots in the film.

Runaway was a much better movie than it was given credit for.

Hmmmm…. specs say it can operate for 30 minutes at a time….. it took several seconds to traverse an approximately 3′ wide expanse of stone.

When they come for me I’m just gonna throw crap in their path! HAHAHAHAHA

I for one welcome our new robot overlords.

I read somewhere those things will kill anyone that has a handsome moustache and drives a Ferrari.

Yeah you’re right… does it also spray acid out of the front? Those things freaked me out when I was a kid. I think they swarmed Simmons’ character in the movie if I remember correctly. May explain his looks today.

As cool as the “little dog” robot is, the “big dog” robot just about knocks my socks off every time I see the video. It is absolutely amazing to see its weight/inertia management system at work. Phenomenal.

Though, I really think they should at least put a token head on those dog-bots. They are seriously creepy without one. They look like headless zombie dogs.

    Creepy!

Looks more like one of the Screamers.

    With convenient handle for portability.

You see some years ago this kind of stuff was used in movies like Terminator…

Make it faster and it will be a nice r/c car replacement!

(Looks into the crystal ball and sees hundrets of them used by the Combine in a future conflict in an unnamed city against a mute guy with crowbar)
