A video that purportedly shows a living, breathing space alien will be shown to the news media Friday in Denver.
“It shows an extraterrestrial’s head popping up outside of a window at night, looking in the window, that’s visible through an infrared camera,” he said. The alien is about 4 feet tall and can be seen blinking, Peckman said earlier this month.
An instructor at the Colorado Film School in Denver scrutinized the video “very carefully” and determined it was authentic, Peckman said.

Thus furthering the theory that most, if not all, alien encounters are the result of the extraterrestrial equivalent of joyriding teenagers. I read this, and the first thing that popped into my head is an alien version of Animal House.

I love the “Free Toolbar” bit at the bottom of the article. Makes you think you can see the footage. Tries to launch an .exe instead. Um, no thanks.
Anyone remember those pictures of the Cottingley “Fairies?” Photographers assured people that the photos were genuine, and no tampering had occurred. Technically, they were right: the photos were genuine; the fairies themselves were cardboard cutouts propped up in the bushes.
$5 says it’s a guy in an animatronic alien head with long fingers, although that’s a bet I would happily lose.
That “alien autopsy” film was supposedly verified by experts as well. Even Stan Winston claimed it didn’t look like a fake even though it was plainly made of rubber and not biological. Like Mulder, “I want to believe”, but there’s really never been any credible footage of anything supernatural. Unfortunately.

Aliens aren’t really supernatural, there is a good possibility that some exists out there. There’s just no reason to believe they’re visiting us (rampant arrogance is not a valid reason).
I believe the quote went something like this: “If there IS an alien race smart enough to reach us, they’re smart enough to stay as far away from us as possible.”

It says he placed the camera there to catch the neighbour kids who he thought were peeping on his daughters. I’m the 1st one to say it’s impossible for there Not to be life on other planets. Maybe they’re technologically advanced, maybe they’re as advanced as we are, meaning they ain’t coming here. All I know is, we do have the technology monitoring our planet that we’d see it coming and they wouldn’t be landing in a frigging cornfield and then “sneaking” up to a farm house and peeking in the window, only never to be seen or heard from again?
the stuff I read said that the public will not be able to see the video, just media commentators that will be able to describe their experience. I think it’s all a big scam to get Peckman’s alien invasion council enabled in his hometown…

There is a story on CNN that the video is only open to the press and it will be released on a documentry later. All this for only $35.00! The video on youtube is not the one they are talking about as they said it was in infrared. Lets hope anyway.

Is it just me, or is the idea of an alien traveling hundreds if not thousands of light years to get here and peep on us through our windows seems really, um, out there and creepy?

While I have no doubt that the footage has not been tampered with, it still doesn’t prove anything.
Well, for one the videos around the net are fakes of the video presented today as no one was allowed to videotape the tape he showed the Press and the Public isn’t allowed to see it until the release of his “documentary” which tells me it is LIKELY a hoax as no E.T. advocate in his right mind would just try to sell it, he would proudly display it free of charge to everyone. He would be proclaimed in history either way if this gets enough hype, as the big ” hoax” or if its true “The guy who SOLD alien proof.”
Two – The video is infrared, that means we see body heat signatures yes? Compare the alien’s body heat signature to a human’s. Simple – if they are the same, it’s some guy in a costume.
And lastly if it really was a “Peeping Tom Alien”, they how would they know what he was looking at indeed a window? How do they know how to use our doors?
Pfft, I am curious but I seriously doubt. My visage tells me a Alien wouldn’t know how to do anything on our planet, and be much more intrigued by the simpler things first like grass and whatnot.

I really hope that the videos that have been popping up aren’t it but there’s no reason to believe that footage won’t get out by other means. For starters, it’s identified as being from several years ago. Why is it now that the video is being released? Why not when it originally happened? Who’s seen it in the meantime? How many other copies exist? If there’s anything we should know by now it’s that longer something exists on tape the more likely it’s going to be seen and copied by others.
Also, IR videography or “night shot” records reflective levels of IR projected from an IR lamp on the camera. It’s not “heat signature”. If anything, they might be able to determine if the alien’s skin has organic properties based on how it reflects the lamp compared to foam latex or rubber or silicone. This is why it’s popular with pervy voyeur photographers, because certain clothing is transparent to IR which is then reflected by the skin underneath, giving an “x-ray specs” kind of effect.
I’ll agree though, based on this fellow’s treatment, there’s no reason to think it’s any more real than the alien autopsy footage. A true believer would want it out and available and impossible to suppress.

you know, with high tech cameras today, I woudl expect a FAR better quality picture, that looks like a doll outside the window. Do they exist? yeah, my father flew next to one in the air force, he told me after I said I believe cause he didn’t want me to think he was nuts.

hehe… This week’s episode of Ben 10 (Yes, it’s one of my little guilty pleasures) had a great quote that reminded me of this story. Ben had said something not terribly bright, and the alien he’s talking to sighed and said something to the effect of, “Is is any wonder that most of us choose to only interact with your livestock?”
