Hehe. Wow! The effects right off the bat were painfully done! I couldn’t help but chuckle, snicker, giggle, and laugh through the whole of it. Especially while the raft was speeding down the rapids.
They just added it to Hulu? Welp, there goes the rest of my week.
Couple a’ notes:
1) Anyone notice that the actor who plays Will goes by one name? 2) And that that name is ‘Wesley?’ Who would choose that as your only professional name. Even I have to rock a title to keep from boring myself to death. 3) Is this the only kids show to have a bluegrass theme? 4) I was something like 8-9 when this show first came on, and even then I knew I was heterosexual, thank you Holly. 5) I don’t care who you are, Land of the Lost has got to be in the top 5 children’s shows with absolutely no redeeming value.
Okay I have to admit to watching the full Land of the Lost Marathon that the SciFi channel did this past Monday. Horibble graphics but it was so bad I couldn’t stop watching. The first season was the best by far.
Oh and anctor named Jon Locke plays a character in later seasons, maybe a conection to Lost…lol
I thought I was going to recognize / recall this show when I clicked on the link, but I’ve never seen it or heard that song. I’m surprised that it didn’t get any replay in the 80s when I was watching older kids shows that were replayed all the stinkin’ time.
Speaking of John Locke. He also played a part in a wonderful piece of Television history called EARTH 2. Relatively recent but the puppets and the costumes are pretty cool.
Memories! The main ones I held onto were the pylons’ crystal control boards and Holly. That verifies my status as a nerd at age six.
I can’t wait to see the new movie—the preview shown before the new Trek film had me laughing. I’m grown up now (relatively speaking) and can appreciate Chaka breast humor. :-Þ
I absolutely loved this show when I was a kid – couldn’t pry me away from the TV on Saturday mornings with a crow bar as I’m sure my mother will attest. I saw an episode replay in the mid 90s when I was 20 something and was like, WTH? Was I THAT easily entertained? And then I remembered how I pretended the fake Christmas tree branches were batons I could twirl and how the Operation game I wanted so badly for Christmas scared the crap outta me when Santa got it for me and realized yes, yes I was.
That is hilarious!
And now you can get the whole thing on dvd in a lunch box! http://tinyurl.com/qcrotu

Ah, the basics. Thanks for sharing!
Somehow I doubt that these are the most state of the art special effects of the day.
Still, hilarious to watch.
They just added the entire show on Hulu too.. not that I’m going to bother watching any of it… lol

And yet, this is still better than the crap remake coming out.
not nessicarrily, the remake looks to be trying for the ‘so bad it’s actually entertaining’ style.

I absolutely was addicted to this show. It was no routine expedition…

Bonus: Tim Curry
It was awesome when I was a little kid
Also I was first, yay.
I think the real horror here is the music. *shudders*
Love the fricking show. Watched most of the first season last night on Hulu.

Bill Laimbeer played a Sleestak when he was 17. Good thing he gave up the acting bug for basketball.

Funny, that’s how I reacted to seeing the Super Friends again.
Check out the old school goodness here: http://www.70slivekidvid.com/main.htm
I don’t remember there being that much banjo in the theme song. Man, that took me back!
What’s funny is hearing people complain that the new movie will “ruin the original”. How could the original series be made any worse?
