Some of you might not even see it yet, as your browsers might still be caching a lot of the site, but there is a whole new design happening here, and while I have a few more things to work out, I am super excited about it for the most part. Couple of features worth mentioning:

– Comments: You can now reply to other people. Very cool little threaded method of commenting.
– A TRUE archive of all the comics now exists on the site.
– All comics, posts and tags will be “smarter” now, so this should translate into an easier way around the site than before.

I am working on a few things still, but on the whole, we are HERE, baby. Enjoy! Let me know if you see any goofiness.

    I like it!

  2. SteveyD

I’m also loving it Scott, although it seems a little slow. Will that improve?

    • Shaymus22

      From Scott’s twitter feed:
“NOTE: If the site seems slow, it’s because I am mass creating back posts for 1000 comic archives. This too shall pass.”

    • Scott

Yeah, speed will see an improvement as soon as all these strips are converted. Slow go. :(

  3. Ado

I REALLY like this new design.

  4. Sokkratez

There seem to be some display issues in Opera. The content area and side ad are displaced.

    • Sokkratez

I should clarify: on post pages (ones without the comic). The front page and posts with comics in them seem to be displaying fine.

      Opera fucking rocks.

  5. Asterix

    I like it a lot!

  6. pwninstein

    Awesome, Scott!

  7. ogden

Nice, I like the look so far!

  8. Moobie

Well done! I like very much. Only one minor bit of goofyness to report, I’m on IE 8 in Widows 7, the main page displays perfectly however when I click on the article header to comment the “ExtraLife” logo cuts off the title. The first words “A Note” is covered up. I just tried reloading it in Safari for Windows and this bug doesn’t reproduce. Must be IE just being goofy.

  9. Moobie

Frumph do you want a screen shot of what this looks like in IE 8 as well?

    • !Scott!

Please do! We’d like to kill all the display bugs we can find.

    • Frumph

Thanks for that screenshot, really helps!

      • Moobie

My pleasure sir! Thanks for all that you do! :-)

Can I say I like it? Ok, done.

  11. Bearbutt

Looks like I can’t have an avatar with my desired name. Oh well.

    • Frumph

Go to your profile in the dashboard if your a registered user and you can set your username, and gravatar’s are based on your email address.

  12. Jenna

    This looks awesome! :D

  13. Morex

WOAH! Scott you have something really cool going on here. The header looks fantastic and I love the paper textures.

    Awesome job, mate!

  14. Frumph

How’s it look now for you in opera and IE7 ?

  15. tylerbigt

    Looks great

  16. Precious Roy

Love the new look. Only thing different I am noticing is that clicking on forums in the top navigation does not have the auto redirect it used to have. Just mentioning it in case that is not intended. Firefox 3.5.2 if that helps.

  17. gambitofnarf

    Liking the new format.

  18. Darrell

For those who set up their gravatar account and still see nothing, it takes many minutes (I waited overnight) for the change to take effect.

  19. capsuletz

Love the new look! Comment functions are awesome :)

  20. Ink Asylum

Well done, Scott! I like the new color scheme. The soft beiges and greens are very easy on the eyes.

  21. Jake

    It’s beauuuuutiful :D

  22. Rico

    Looks really good Scotty!

  23. ZekeTheSquirrel

I’ve been offline the past couple days and completely missed the transition until yesterday, when I went to show a friend one of your recent comics. The new site looks awesome! I’ve always liked WordPress sites.

  24. SWitpas

    Love the new design!

Only thing that always keeps distracting me is the 2 black borders left and right. They are just “too black” for my liking. I would go with something just a bit lighter.

  25. Steve-FWIW

Looking good Scott, I like it.
