I think the bad guys appear to us much more interesting/fascinating/complex because they are more human then the good guys.

When you mentioned Darth Vader, I just had to think about the huge gap there is between how many like the dark side more then the light.
I mean, who can actually indentify with those Jedi? They have those strict rules like not having emotions, passions and all that…
Some guy once said “lot of the things considered noble and good by the Jedi are in fact inhumane, backward, intolerant, extreme, heartless, cruel (to children)…”
When we look upon the usual evil/good guys thinking of the common standards of our real world, the so called evil doers act more like we would expect reallife people would act.

It’s a harsh, bad world we live in.

  2. NeuroMan42

Yes… that is one of the reasons I like the Horde in WOW. Truthfully once ya get into the stories of the WOW races, the Humans are one of the WORST ones. :)

  3. Scott

I think I am going to intervew a game developer next week during a mini cast. Should be good times.

  4. NeuroMan42

Woo! I actually got mentioned! For those of you confused about my name, it´s actually pronounced “your d” (hey, I´m Dutch, so sue me). I don´t really have too much to say about this show though, as I haven´t played either game yet.

I agree with Andy though, most people can identify better with bad guys because they don´t see the need to limit themselves in use of their gifts. Imean, if I´d be able to throw lightning bolts around, I´d sure as hell use it for my own instead of only using it to benefit everyone.

  7. Scott

    Hey Your D! :)

  8. theCurse

    Where’s the Guild Wars love?

  9. NeuroMan42

I personally gave GW love for 2 weeks, until I got bored with it. ;) Only problem is you cannot compare GW to EQ2 or WOW, as they are not the same kinda games. You can compare GW to Phantasy Star Online as it is the closest GW gets to a MMO.

I think there should be a shrine to Dean Cain on your website.

I love the gratuitous Dean Cain references.

  11. NeuroMan42

The man, the myth, the legend…

    Dean Cain

  12. Scott

We CANT have a show without him now. Its a potential curse I am unwilling to unleash upon us.

  13. Spencer

Do you think you could get an interview with him?

  14. Scott

nothing would be cooler. i doubt he thinks that eve HE has sunk that low yet. :)

  15. NeuroMan42

    Sunk that low?!?

He played the murderer Scott Petterson in a Lifetime movie.

    LIFETIME MOVIE!!!

  16. NeuroMan42

Dean Cain Named Honorary Chairperson of National Fishing and Boating Week

I am NOT KIDDING!!! I swear I read the article.

  17. Jordy

I think there should actually be an MMORPG dedicated to Dean Cain, or at least having him as a playable character or skin.

Would be pretty cool in City of Heroes.

I Myself am a big fan of the Guildwars statement of not having a monthly fee for a single game.

I know that they use the money to sustain the servers and the development of new updates, but to be honest. they should offer that service for free for the people dishing out fifty bucks for the bloody game in the first place.

Sure GW may not be in the same league as WoW, heck, nothing really is. but it’s a pretty nice substitute for players who like to play a game with no real strings attached. Paying a monthly fee for a game most certainly attaches you to it. You won’t wan’t to not play the game (ow my what a line), simply because you dish out an additional 12,50 a month for the online part.

as to the Dean thing. he would be good in city of heroes. but there’d have to be a storyline that progresses towards a life in crummy TV shows based on him where he would be an outside consultant for the superman feats :P

Also. Goyr D should not complain about being mispronounced on Podcast, he should be thankfull enough to be mentioned in the same 40 minute time slot as Dean! the master of overacted suspence ;)

    Cheers guys, enjoy the show.

    according to http://www.mmorpg.com
(and who says guild wars isnt an mmorpg?)

  20. NeuroMan42

    It isn’t.

Even the company that makes GW, Net Devil called GW an Action RPG… not a MMORPG. Anyone who think GW is a MMO is blissfully trapped in there dreamy dream world. :)

GW is a new fancy version of Gauntlet or Diablo II. I have had a few old Guildies leave WOW and EQ2 for GW and comeback because they were TRICKED into thinking that GW was a MMORPG. Of course, then came back to EQ2, WOW, and Final Fantasy.

It bugs me how magazines and gaming websites are the one that started the “GW is the next great step in MMOs” talk. As even the company that made it does NOT call it an MMO. If you gonna call GW an MMO, then ya might as well call ALL online games such. Like Unreal, Quake, Neverwinter Nights, Battlefield 1942, and many many other Online games. As it has more incommon with those games than normal MMOs, like EQ2, WOW, UO, COH, and the list goes on.

dude WoW is the best of the two games. also i thought i was the only one that profers horde over the alliance the fact is that alliance is boring as if you would want to be a miget gnome, or a body hair infested freaky dwaf, and a boring human why would u play a fantasty game if were already humans (or are we) nights elf ok but there are way to many of them
PS: FOR THE HORDE!!! shamans “n” trolls rok and troll shamans
