Scott, you mentioned there might be a mini cast this weekend but definately next tuesday. Does this mean no casts this tuesday or thursday?

  2. Scott

Well today is Tuesday so there is a show obviously. ;) The mini cast would take place this weekend or so. Perhaps earlier. The guaranteed show will always be Tuesdays.

  3. NeuroMan42

Hehe, good show. You guys missed a couple staples though. Remeber Hercules? With that frickin annoying Toot. And what the heck, he pulled the ring out of his loin cloth. Did he have a little pocket in there or….. heh. What about G.I. Joe, Ewoks and dare I mention Carebears?

    Anyway great show guys.

    Thanks

  6. Scott

hi, i was wondering after ur discussion of wow vs eq, if you would talk about or even mention guild wars At all… Its an excellent game and even though its not typically an “mmorpg” it is an online rpg at the least, and has alot of the typical crafting, collecting and trading of MMO’s… not only that but it has an Excellent compelling storyline :D

it would be greatly appreciated if you could mention guild wars :)

  11. daemonbarber

Mention it or tear it to pieces? From what I hear you either love it or hate it… and I can’t think of many people who would put it on par with EQ2 or WoW.

I’ve only played durring betas so I can’t say much more than that…

  12. Tristan

surely it wouldnt be “torn to pieces” , think about it. If you pay (all australian currency) 30 dollars a month for a wow pass, and u play for lets say 6 months. Thats 180 dollars! (Plus Whatever u payed to buy the darn game :P ) and for four of those months or more u didnt even get to play PvP. For 80 dollars u can buy something that u can play PvP (competitively straight out of the box) or PvE or even play by yourself. I believe those few straight facts are enough to discount it from being “torn to pieces”

All over the place on the net i see WoW VS Guild Wars forums, reviews etc…
And considering Guild Wars scored a 9.2 WoW a 9.5 and EQ2 a 7.8 over at http://www.gamespot.com. It seems like its much more of a comparison.

Dont get me wrong, im not saying WoW is a worse game that Guild Wars. Nor am I saying you should change the topic of your podcast. Its just that as a Guild Wars fan i feel terribly under represented :P then again, who really cares about the gamers :P its not as if im seeing mentions of any great games around here, BF2 anyone?

Oh and EQ2 vs WoW? WoW wins for sure :D

As I have mentioned before GW is fun, at least it was fun to me for 2 weeks. GW to me is simply a new version of Diablo II or Gauntlet. Comparing GW to WOW or EQ2 simply is like comparing Apples to a Big Mac. As they have no right being in the same conversation. It bugs me that some magazines try to say that GW is a MMORPG and that it is the wave of the future concerning MMOs. What a crock… GW is a great game if you like fantasy hack and slash. I had a blast with my fellow guildies for 2 weeks and then we all go bored and wnet back to real MMOs like WOW, EQ2, and Final Fantasy.

  14. NeuroMan42

Just to clarify I didn’t hate GW at all my Guildies and I had a blast when we played it. It was just too blah and empty feeling, as it didin’t have enough MEAT either storywise/gamingwise to keep us all interested. ;)

Some of us went back to WOW, some went to EQ2 and some when back to Final Fantasy. I went back to WOW, but recently I have been fiddling with EQ2 for the free 7 days. So far it looks somewhat nice, as I don’t like the plastic look of things. I also played/got burned on EQ1 so that is really making me feel nasty for touching another SOE product. After my stint in EQ, I vowed never to touch their products again. :)

You mentioned the Edinburgh Evening news website. I’m a fan from Edinburgh, Scotland and I read an article a while ago about Manhunt and how some shops like GAME took it off of their shelves after some nutcase hacked off his friends head with an axe. I just turned 14 on Wednesday and I read it about 6 months ago when I was 13 and that made me want Manhunt. Less than a week later my then 11 year old brother asked my mum to buy him a copy of the game. 6 months later my brother still hasn’t become a homicidal maniac. IN YOUR FACE NEWSPAPER.

Sorry about my last post, I got it in the wrong thread. I meant to put it in the video game Podcast part. D’OH
