You should have had Randy write up the show notes. “Sparse” is a word that indicates much more in-depth notes than these.
We are way too random on this show to do detailed show notes. We have tight notes for The Instance, because we have tight notes we WORK from. Different show, different needs.
No big MMO has ever had a free trial on launch.
I don’t think the ea game is going to be madden as NFL is only big in the u.s. Hockey is the way to go or sorry to say it real football (soccer).
Randy mentioned during the discussion about a Zombies MMO that he wanted factions, and then commented that EVE had no factions with structure. Actually what he described was exactly what Faction Warfare is and was introduced to the game over a year ago with the Empyrean Age update.

What CCP did was add a core central region called the Bleak Lands and created a militia system, where Corporations could align with the 4 major eve playable factions, and join the for example Caldari Militia.

Hey Scott. You can turn off the battle music in Aion. Go to sound options and uncheck “Use Battle BGM”. I know I got tired of the battle music really quick. Was great to be able to turn it off.

Am an instance listener and heard you guys referring to this show on your latest podcast. Funny stuff! Hey – for the love of tex-mex Randy get to 10 in Aion. Sure flying is ok…its the gliding that is so much freakin fun! Find a downhill slope (stairs in the main city) and double tap the jump button. Best MMO play mechanic ever.
And the 1-10 experience bites much ass. You will realize this when you ‘Ascend” and get out of the noob zone. In fact, get to 9, then just do the ascencion quest, since that quest will give you enough exp to gain level 10.

Only problem with a football MMO would be the fact that everyone would want to be the QB, RB or LB. And there are a limited number of positions for those. Nobody is going to want to be an offensive lineman.
I do think the idea of a sports MMO would be cool though. Just need to figure out the game play issues and it could be cool.
But a modern warfare (like CoD) MMO would definitely get my interest. Would be enough for me to try it alongside WoW, and if done well you never know…..

Long-time listener, first-time commenter, and I’ve only come to say that this is the last episode of ELR I’ll be listening to, as I can no longer tolerate Scott’s casual racism towards Asians, and just Scott, in general. I am done. The dumb Asian impressions, the shitting-on of Japanese pop culture, or even the constant ribbing of O and Brian for being Colombian and Southern, respectively, despite being the dumbest and most ignorant member of the show. All of it. Done.
If only there could be an ELR without Scott Johnson — IF ONLY — but alas, that’s probably not to be. So: good riddance to bad rubbish, and my only regret is no more O and Brian, and everyone else who isn’t Scott.

Harry Potter MMO would be awesome. Built-in audience & can be on the same maturity level as WoW. I think it could be successful…So long as it’s built for Windows AND Mac. As a Mac user, I get tired of seeing all these games made for Windows only. I don’t want to run Windows. But I think a HP MMO would be awesome. I’d play.
What’s wrong with Lineage II exactly? Scott keeps calling it crappy, but he never actually says why. In my opinion it’s on par with WoW most of the time, and PvP is much better in Lineage II.
I could have gone into more detail on that I guess. I REALLY hated playing Lineage II. I’ll explain why somewhere sometime.
