Big great show, in my humble opinion. Join us as we discuss the state of plungers, Coraline, and ALL the big geeky movies of 2009! Had a blast. Hope you do as well.

That was a fast edit !
Good ELR Episode W00T !
Bob Dylan PWONS !
I like me some ELR on my icy morning commute. Cheers.
All hail Pazuzu and his mother for birthing such a god….
Has G.I. Joe always been a secret organizaiton?! You guys kill me sometimes. Every single one of them has a code name. Their base is hidden under the desert. Of course they have always been a organization.
I guess we were just more aware of the fact that GI Joe was a ridiculous cartoon with no roots in any form of reality.
Isn’t Pazuzu also the name of the Professor’s gargoyle on Futurama?
@Kevin
I thought all people in the army had nicknames. Certainly all the shows I have seen have.As far as the hidden base, I just assumed since Cobra was such a threat that they had to have their base underground.
I always assumed that G.I. Joe was basically just a special forces team. Certainly not a super secret military organization.
But I’m not all that bright…so what do you expect. :p
@Jonah – Yep. We in fact mention that in the episode.
O’s comments on the G.I. Joe movie are just gold. I thought he was going to say it needed a PSA moment like Scott said. The rubber band comment was just awesome. If some theater this summer can play a double feature with Transformers first and then G.I. Joe second, it will be closest possible thing to re-creating weekday afternoons in 1986.
Great show.
I miss LAN parties, too, but I really don’t miss transporting my computer to a friend’s house once a month.
Hi Scott,
I just finished listening to ELR #210: “All Hail Pazuzu!” from Feb. 10th. You covered a lot of interesting issues in this episode including the reference to the “3 O’Clock High” movie at East High school but it was actually Ogden High School. I went to Ogden High for my Freshman and Sophmore years right around the time the movie was made and I also have a few friends who had bit parts in the movie as well.
3 O’Clock High:

Stanton Davis “Jock #2″:

Jamie Shuman “Dude #2″:

Michael Alvarez “Dude #1″:

ALSO – Yeardly Smith (voice of Lisa Simpson) played “Cheerleader” in the 3 o’Clock High movie. (Just in case you were wondering).
Keep putting out the great podcasts Scott (and everyone else at ELR and The Instance)
Best wishes,
Chad Johnson

I thought I heard Scott say The Watchmen was coming out later this year but is it not March 6th?
When will len from Jawbone radio be back! I miss the chaos he brings…
Can you get a link for O’s podcast? I don’t know if I am not searching it correctly on iTunes but I don’t see it. Thanks!
Sure thing.
You can find the Audiorant online at: http://www.commissionedcomic.com/audiorant.php
Or you can just put the RSS feed into your iTunes, here it is: http://www.commissionedcomic.com/audiorants/audiorant.xml
I’m not sure why it isn’t showing up on iTunes. Maybe I did something wrong when I submitted it. But if you put in the RSS feed your iTunes or Zune will handle it just fine.
Thanks for the interest!
JJ Abrams is not one of the writers of the new “Star Trek” movie. He is the director and a producer for it. Two writers he has worked often with, Orci & Kurtzman are the writers. They’ve worked on “Alias” & “Fringe” with JJ too.
Great show, but I think you guys forgot to mention the new Terminator: Salvation, also coming out this May I believe.
The power of Christ compels… oh heck.
Got done listening to the podcast today. Just a quick note, the giant robot at the end of that Transformers 2 trailer is Scavenger….one of 6 robots that are going to form Devastator. Just to put that into perspective…
