Missiondeep started in March 2006. At least that is when I registered the domain name.

I’m getting the new drums when Rock Band 2 comes out this weekend. We beat up our drums pretty hard and I’m looking for a quieter experience and a better bass pedal. Plus, the new drums are wireless and will keep our living room a little cleaner.

OMG this episode is Evil: 666 diggs!

I dub this episode the “O is right, Scott just doesn’t get it” episode… sooooo tired about hearing about how Scott doesn’t understand Japanese entertainment. Especially with the Batman issue, 8 million over 3 weeks is a GOOD showing for a movie in the theatres in Japan.

Good clam chowder is not full of sand. Sand chowder happens when the idiots don’t know what they’re doing.

Most chowder made in western WA is yummy!

    idogis1: It´s Casshern.
I personally found the movie to be quite ok.

Casshern definitely is a ‘wtf’ kind of movie. I watched it a few years ago, but I do remember it feeling a lot deeper than Scott was making it out to be. Either way, I enjoyed it quite a bit, and I’m trying to find it to watch it again tonight. It definitely made me think a lot more than most movies do.

The Japanese don’t really know that much about Batman, he’s a bit too western for their tastes. However, Batman Returns did OK. To build on that they should have included “Batman” in the Japanese title. Instead they just used “The Dark Knight” leading to no one having a clue it was actually the sequel to Batman Returns.

Elisha Cuthbert not from Utah in any way shape or form – she is from Calgary Alberta Canada.

Thus disproving that everyone who is anyone is from Utah

Clam Chowder: Thats a San Fran thing. Out here in New England its freaking creamy goodness.

Batman/Japan: Here’s the thing it comes down to localization. Name a Japanese movie playing anywhere in the US. If you can, tell me how many theaters its in. Kinda see my point, domestic films get more press then foreign films in almost every country including ours. We’re going to care more about our films then anyone else caring about them. Thats the simple truth.

Gene makes a good point. When that Miyazaki film hits the US, it will likely only be shown in theaters that cater to indie and foreign films. You would think that since Disney has the release rights for the US that they would promote and distribute the films more widely. I was shocked when Howl’s Moving Castle got stuck in the indie theaters and not in wide release. It was a great film too!

Just watched Cashern. I’m with Scott J. Very “Japanese” movie, what with all the Power Rangers action shots, the hyper-stylized point-of-view switching, and the what not. Some of the movie was visually stunning, and other parts were joltingly-bad. Problem #2: I had a hard time telling the dark-haired characters apart! I’m such a redneck a-hole!
