Thanks for letting us see your vulnerability. We don't get to see it that much in your other podcasts. All we see are is the clowny, funny Scott Johnson. Thanks again.

Scott, I would like to add that the last part of your series made the front page of reddit, where folks were not aware of the rest of the series. It's likely that's where your confused posts came from.

Our son is 14, so I totally understand the latest diary. I think it's all about balance. You're not there to be best friends, but you also don't want to make them hate you.
.
I think many who gripe about "where's the funny?" are joking, but are not funny themselves.

Scott, Thanks for sharing your feelings, it was nice to listen to your thoughts. You should just keep ignoring the troll comments even if it's hard. Cheers, Silvio

I am blessed enough to have awesome parents. As I'm considering having children of my own within the next couple of years, it is staggering to think that I'm not even half the man my father is. I think the thing that sticks out the most for me is that my parents always loved me unconditionally and they genuinely cared about my friends. I think children (and especially teenagers & young adults) really gravitate toward that authenticity. I was a trustworthy kid and was given a great deal of freedom, but that freedom came with very clear and very firm boundaries concerning activities and behavior. I agree with everybody else: simply expressing these concerns (and I think you're wise to recognize them) indicates that you are, in fact, on the right track. It sounds to me like you've probably lapped most parents a couple of times.
