This does not sound like your coach.If you can find a different league that practices this, get into it. We did this with our older son & it made a huge difference. The only thing I didn't like (kinda) was the voice the reader used for the boy. "Papa....I'm a total wuss who shouldn't be slowin' you down Papa."Heard that a film is in the works starring Hugh Jackman as "Papa." That would be pretty freakin' rad. But up until recently, it easily could have been even earlier. In 2006, it started on July 31! They actually had to change the law in the state so that school would start later in the year (basically sometime in August)Back when I went to school, it seemed that school started right after Labor Day and went until early June.
