Today’s Comic: “We have a system for this stuff”

About this comic

I have done more of my share of accidental ninja loots in game, and each time I “think” I have a good excuse, but in the end, it really comes down to me being the dumb guy in group. Soon enough, this will happen to you, and you best be prepared.

I remember I did it by accident on my first time.
And on the second time I saw this happening it was just a jerk stealing stuff from me…
Well, not only the second, but the third, forth, and so on. I never learn… :(

  2. Robert says:

    So… what’s a “ninja loot”?

September 1, 2012 Its approximating you ricete my mind! You seem to know a lot concerning this, similar to you wrote the book in it otherwise impressive. I imagine that you could do with approximately pics to drive the message residential home a insufficiently fragment, except other than that, this is abundant blog. A fantastic ricete. I will indeed be back.

  3. Blackwood says:

Ninja looting is especial in World of Warcraft. The items are soulbound if the drop, and the first one who picks them up bind them to his character, so its worthless for the others because the can´t trade/wear it. And normally the loot is beeing split under the group in facts of need, usage etc. A Ninja is simple one who´s grapping all he can.

  4. Tyler says:

Once took a tank ring as a mage in BRD…lost a lot of friends that day…but it was better than mine! Such utter noob. I don’t think you really know what you’re doing in that game ’til you hit 70 and start looking for raiding advice.

  5. Eric says:

If they can have mental illnesses based on MMOs, then they can have mental illnesses based on specific factors of MMOs, such as ninja-looting.

… or at least, they can continue to claim such even though the rest of us know good and well that they’re either lying or need to be locked up… either way, they’re out of our hair.

  6. Craazy says:

This could be a series of comics! Worst reason for ninjaing loot #34625 :)

  7. wolfshade says:

    Love the fat BE, lol

  8. Valek says:

I’ve ninja looted once, but the MMO i play, if somoene does it to me and doesnt apologize for “accidentally” doing it, i force PK them.

  9. Keefe says:

I did it once a couple years ago during one of my first instance runs. I got chewed out so thoroughly that even now I often pass on loot in instances. I still feel bad over that…

August 29, 2012 You could certainly see your einsustahm in the work you write. The sector hopes for even more passionate writers such as you who are not afraid to mention how they believe. Always go after your heart. History is the version of past events that people have decided to agree upon. by Napoleon.

  10. lejsen says:

back in the old days i once accidentally took EVERYTHING onyxia dropped… raid leader took the blame :P

  11. mercator says:

Ninja looting isn’t new to WoW but it has a greater effect in WoW. That soulbind concept is a little ridiculous, if you ask me.

  12. Bearbutt says:

I did this a whole bunch before I knew anything. I figured everyone got stuff… after all… why would it show ya stuff ya can’t get? But now I am good and honorable and all of that not-fun stuff. jk!

  13. Molly says:

Very embarrassing when it happens, but we are only human…well most of us are only human!

  14. Kainti says:

The internet is a harsh enough place that if you do it once, you typically pay attention enough afterwards because of the shit you take for it.

  15. MXC says:

I have Nintendo fingers, they don’t think before they move.

  16. CDRaff says:

Sometimes I really hate the whole Soulbound thing, but then I think what the economy will do if they didn’t have the soulbound.

I can not think of a time that I ninja looted something, but I have had mages ‘need’ a blue gun drop, and have had pallys ‘need’ leather armor from me. That always sucks.

  17. Gordy says:

Whatever that thing in the middle is…it made me laugh.

  18. Aroinak says:

What the heck is that thing with the blue crystal sticking up out of it’s head? lol!
But on the ninja looting subject, I have ninja looted accidentally multiple times, and the party has always been kind to me, not give me way too much crap for it. They mostly understand because the same thing has probably happened to them.

  19. Smitehammer says:

The only MMO I’ve ever touched was Guild Wars. They assigned drops at random, and if someone would have rather had your item on the spot, you could just give it to them. Seems like that saves a lot of time and bickering over loot division.

  20. Mr-D says:

I knwo this may start a flame war but I dont care, i love Ninja-ing, best way to get your name around in an MMO and nothings funnier than having people follow you so they can spam NINJA! across the screen and waste thier own game time while I laugh

  21. mercator says:

Mr-D if you actually do that, then you don’t need to preface that you don’t care. LOL

Have fun with that style of play. I assume you play a game and world where you don’t get PK’d? Even more classy!

  22. Wungy says:

The thing in the middle made me laugh too, because it seems as if these guys haven’t actually killed it, they just knocked it silly and picked it’s pocket.

  23. Jarajara says:

I love how people think “ninja looting” started in WoW. WoW wasn’t the first MMO, and every piece of lingo wasn’t coined in WoW.

Ninja looting has been happening long before WoW was thought.

Try out a real MMO instead of the baby, WoW

  24. Scott says:

Jarajara: Feeling a little jaded. :)

  25. Jarajara says:

Maybe its because of all the kids are running around shouting uber, ninja loot, ect ect. Thinking this stuff was all invented from WoW. The only thing that came out of WoW was Chuck Norris jokes, and the world could do without those…..

I played WoW for about a year, maxed level, got bored. Did the same with EQ1 EQ2 and got bored with other ones.

Maybe its like that comic you did being excited over an old tv/show video game and your kids are like what are you talking about dad thats lame! Getting old sucks :-(

  26. Deano says:

Awwww, Scotts raiding with the big boys now.

  27. Luke J J says:

I’ve tried out a few MMOs, never stuck around for more than a month. I always ended up wandering off, exploring by myself, and getting uber (that’s for you, Jarajara) bored.

  28. Brad Hardman says:

Eh. The Clone Wars just no longer holds any real interest for me. It used to be this unknown time, that in my imagination was going to be rad. Then the the prequels came out and pretty much ruined it for me.

At this point, I would be much more interested in a Star Wars animated show set either after Return of the Jedi or before Phantom Menace.

That said, I’ll will eventually check out at least one episode. I watched the first series of shorts by cartoon network but never saw the second half. They had some cool moments, but overall the humdrum feeling left from the prequels still influenced my overall interest in that series too.
