Truthfully, it left a bad taste in my mouth, too. Gay men can be together without one having to take on the role of “butch” and the other “fem.”

Sorry. I’m done. I’ll email next time (though I doubt it’ll come up again given the track record). Just one of the gripes my gay friends have had, and it’s to the point of bugging me, too, of how blindly we portray them. Probably because I was guilty of the same things in the past.

It says what the event is right on the comic. The guy in a dress is just unnecessary and not the least bit funny anymore. The only thing really needed for the joke is the drunk Shatner and Takei’s expression. The real Altman (who’s never worn a dress AFAIK and won’t at the wedding either) would have been better; less chance of pulling away from the real gag with an insulting image of them.
