Those of you that follow my exploits in World of Warcraft know what this is all about. Those who don’t, sorry about that. Indulge me this once. The comic.
The links still go to your previous comic.
I don’t play WoW, but that’s some beautiful stuff man.
Sokkratez, thx for the headsup. Fixed.
Great mood! But this pic slightly gives me the sense that the best days of WoW are behind us somehow. Still, I am counting down the days til November’s release
Awwwww *hugs for Gerp and Henry*
Hm, I’ll take a guess and say Gerp and Henry are stationed in Nagrand at the moment?
Very nice pic, i love the sunrise or sundown? Whatever. I can somehow feel something in this pic.
Beautifully done cartoon, but a bit sad. Almost makes it seem that Gerp & Henry have seen the last of WoW for awhile. I hope this isn’t true, but if it is well hopefully see you when WotLK comes out.
Awwww Henry is so cute! So Cudly gimme! I want a stuffed Henry for my baby!
I look at it like a couple of friends looking at a sunset, thinking about all of the adventures they have been on together. A quiet time together before starting off on the next chapter of their existance (WotLK)
You play an Orc now? What happened to Dreadspine?
(has a feeling you stopped playing Dreadspine aaaaaaages ago and I’m only now realizing this lol)
cool, its now my new desktop Wallpaper
Is it me or does Henry look more like Tigger? Maybe it’s just the way he’s sitting. Good photo though!
Carver: Wow…you HAVE been living under a rock.
my grass brush sense is tingling!
Are Henry’s whiskers coming out of his nose? Oh wait, that happens when you get old.
Awesome picture. It’s almost as if it was made as a prize giveaway, it’s so awesome!!
I was going to try to comment, but KenMo nailed it for me. Poor Gurp & Henry… it’s going to be a cold couple of months! I like that over the shoulder perspective – I know it has a name. What is it called?
I have to agree with Cantonkid and there are many times I look back on WoW and think that the better days of the game are in the past. I really think that the November release will be more of the same and really just that little extra power surge in the life support machine hoping to keep this game alive. The comic really fits in with where I have been in my life for the past few months.
very very nice
aww — does this mean you’ve decided to upgrade pets? is henry getting a rez?
WoW into WAR, perhaps? Warhammer seems to be finding its niche.
I still won’t play another MMORPG. Too damned addictive.
My extralife is grad school, and has to remain that and only that until graduation. I is colege stewdent!
(that said I still find time a couple times a month to play, but not like the old days…)
Do you ever find yourself picturing yourself in movies like the Lion King, with Henry by your side?
Wichdocta has many fond memories of wreaking havoc with you two throughout Stranglethorn Vale and other places. Nice art amigo!
Having played through 90% of WoW (not a big raiding guy, so most of that was not something I engaged in), that’s the feeling I got when I left WoW at the end of BC. WotLK holds nothing for me and the whiney brats that WoW now babysits just kills any appeal the game may have had at one point.
WoW of days past, I salute and honor thee. May you rest in peace.
By the gods of old Scotty, that’s a beautiful comic. The colors are lush, and it emotes so much in just that one panel. Sadness, bittersweet look backward, wondering what the future holds, anticipation of more adventures. Gorgeous. *applause* *wipes away tear* just perfect.
You’ve recently talked about maybe killing henry and having him come back as a spirit cat. Please tell me this isn’t an “Of mice and men” moment and you are getting ready to shoot henry in the back of the head with a crossbow.
All joking aside, this is a fantastic drawing. It actually evokes emotions and memories of my own WoW experiences. Well done.
This is truly great art.
@Melanie1001 Hit the nail in the head, there.
Scott it’s just amazing to see how a bunch of 1 and 0 can become a great part of one self, in this case, how Henry has entangle his claws to you. Keep them coming!
@LostSoul I feel you brother. I will miss the good old days.
=( You’re giving up Henry?
You could always go the path of Child’s Play, and in order to survive an encounter you had to have a Shaman transfer him into a new body.
Still, sad day. Awesome comic.
This image gives me the impression that you’re just about done with WoW.
This is how I would picture Calvin and Hobbes if Calvin grew up and played WoW.
Tokash, this came about from his desire to get new exotic pets so he can stay competitive. He mentioned on the Instance a week or two ago how he didn’t want to end his relationship with Henry, but felt like he needed to move on to the BBD, bigger better deal.
If listening to the Instance has taught me anything, Scott is very very very far from leaving WoW. I think nothing short of Galaxy of Starcraft MMO would bring him to move on from WoW.
love today’s comic.
I quit playing WoW about two months ago, and I love the nostalgic feelings this gave me.
I started playing Shadow of the Colossus too!!!
2 years late…
Little traps of Synchronicity
After playing quite a bit of the PTR I am going to proclaim that you will still be using Henry a lot. The exotic pets while nice are not so overpowered that you will HAVE to use them. Also older pets are getting such a huge buff that I have a feeling that you will love Henry more when you have him in the situations where he becomes more useful.
Being a Hunter exclusively, I am very excited for the 3.0.X patch. We really get a huge buff in that patch and it will be very nice to feel really powerful. I for one think you will be pleasantly surprised how great Henry will become Scott.
Now we just need the patch *Wink, Wink* Blizz!
Man, now yer makin me miss WoW, but me alreddy made da baby orc cry… *sniffles*
Great comic! It captures those quiet moments in game really well
Henry and Gerp FTW. If anything, stable him for a bit…he shouldn’t be put out to pasture! Excellent visual as always.
