This happened to me

About this comic

Sometimes we draw on our own personal experiences for some of the comics we do…and by we, I mean me. Anyway, walked into the kitchen to find the UPS guy doing this very thing through the window. he never knocked, never rang the doorbell…just creeped up to the window. I saw him, went outside, signed for a package, and off he went.

Weird.

Is that a Picasso on the wall?

  2. Jake Frink says:

LOL this is very funny! I have had a similar experience! Great work

  3. Brian Duff says:

Apparently UPS is employing people with latent telepathic abilities, so with their minds, they “ring” your brain’s doorbell to tell you they’re outside.

Or they’ve hired a bunch of people who are checking out your stuff before they deliver your package to figure out if you’re worth robbing?

I thought that ‘Creepy’ checkbox I saw the last time I shipped UPS was a bit unusual.

  5. Dustin says:

If that is a Picasso on the wall, I am seeing some interesting things in that squiggle…

  6. I’m trying to think of some witty joke about a “package,” but not succeeding. Any help?

  7. Carl says:

Well, since I just watched an episode of Leverage, I may be biased, but I think you just got conned.

  8. BryanDavidWilliams says:

Wow. Creepy; my UPS guy knocks and then tries to run away before I can answer the door.

What’s funny is the last UPS guy that came to my house looked just like your UPS guy…well, except for the creepy looking through my window googly eyes.

  11. Sounds to me like you caught him trying to “case the joint.” Hopefully your kitchen isn’t that interesting, and I’m wrong.

They and Fed-Ex have a habit of leaving packages on my porch. It’s a second-story apartment that’s isolated, but still, not a good practice because I work the graveyard shift.

  12. Yup, casing. Report him.

that is really odd. my last ups delivery was tossed over my fence. we have a six foot tall fence with a gate in front of the house. usually the driver will come through the gate and leave the package on the porch. not this guy, he just threw it over the fence. nothing broke, but not a great way to deliver a new hard drive. :o (

  14. Ads says:

Dude, sounds dodgy. He might have been checking to see if you were home to rob you.

  15. Nex says:

What a creeper! See! And people call me crazy because I put bear traps in my garden….

  16. FB International says:

Where can i get the “Triforce” T-Shirt ?
i never got packages delivered by UPS so i can not comment on that ;-)

  17. Jace says:

As a UPS guy I can vouch that I’ve done this too. Sometimes doorbells don’t work or you might not have knocked loud enough, essentially you don’t get a response from the owner but you want them to get their package, so you start poking around trying to find someone. Might have seemed creepy, but they guys just trying to get you your package. We are encourage to call out “UPS” as we go exploring though.

@ puglette – 95% odds your regular guy was on vacation and his fill in was trying to avoid a dog situation, even if dogs aren’t obvious were supposed to assume. Putting in on your side of the gate was the best way to assure no one just driving by decided they wanted a new hard drive.

    • puglette says:

hi jace, yes, i am sure the dogs yapping were a deterent. and i am glad the driver decided to pop the box onto the inside of our fence. and i am also happy that the hard drive folks packed the box so well…it survived the trip admirably! thanks for your perspective. :o )
