Comic: “RIP PS”

Was sad to hear of Patrick Swayze death, but not just because he was a famous actor with a horrible case of cancer. But because I think he was probably a really nice guy, and dis some fine work in his carreer. I LOVED Red Dawn. It had an enormous impact on me the year it came out, and stuck with me ever since. I really hope they don’t blow the remake. Either way, sad to see him go. I guess we still have Red Dawn, Road House and Point Break to watch. :)

To Wong Foo was awesome. Actually saw that in the theater with some friends for some odd reason. Completely forgot he was in it. Just remembered Snipes and Leguizamo.

    Don’t forget Black Dog

Say what you will about the film, PS was great in Dirty Dancing.

Also don’t forget “City of Joy” where he plays a disillusioned surgeon that travels to India after a patient of his dies on the operating table. His spirit is renewed after mixing in with the local people and meeting a woman that runs a free clinic. Music score by Ennio Morricone. A very underrated film.

I must (shamefully?) admit to quite like Roadhouse.

“You will be nice, until it’s time to not be nice.”

“How are we supposed to know when that is?”

      “You won’t. I’ll tell you.”

    • Moobie

No need to feel shame, Roadhouse is a great movie! :-)

Loved Patrick in Donnie Darko. Talented guy, and a fighter. Rest in peace, pally.

I love Red Dawn. I just got it from Netflix recently, and watched it again. It totally holds up, and is still a great movie!

    Great comic!

I must introduce my 12 yr old nephew to Red Dawn. His only exposure to PS until now has been when his mom (my sister) goes on a binge & watches Roadhouse & Dirty Dancing over & over again. He will SO like Red Dawn better!

I’ve been watching the Swayze talk and have noticed something. Does anyone remember him in Youngblood? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0092272/

It’s a hockey movie so I had to own it.

Wait a minute… when did everyone start referring to him as PS?

Back in my day, every straight female had a crush on either Swayze or Tom Cruise or both…for me it was both of them….now Swayze gone and Cruise is a looney toon…not all changes with time are good ones :-/

First we lost his brothers Gerald & Briar and now Truman Gates is gone. Let us never forget them and say a small prayer for his Next of Kin.
