Perceived Value

About this comic

I can’t for the life of me figure out why Amazon would think people would be really excited about this price drop. It effectively makes the phone seem worthless, and undercuts any value people might have thought it had previously. Really weird move, or them just admitting this was a bad attempt. I like Amazon. I really hope they give it another shot.

    It’s not $0.99 though, it’s still $449. It’s just $0.99 with a 2-year plan, which makes it $0.99 more than an iPhone 5.

I thought it was because of certain event tomorrow…9/9/14

  3. LauRoman says:

It will be more valuable in some circles at least if/when people port a Google Play based ROM to it. If there were a Cyanogen build for it i would probably jump and buy one. First-gen kindle fire got a port a long time ago.

  4. Falos says:

A high costs makes something valuable.

Wow. No, no, I won’t be needing any, thanks, just feel free to keep all of… whatever that was just now.

Something is only as valuable as you are willing to pay for it. Personally I haven’t found a smart phone I would buy even for 99c.

  7. Odd drops says:

are there suppose to be two “now”s in that first monkey like creatures sentence?

  8. steelcobra says:

I think the advertising of the device as being the phone for hipster children destroyed it nicely.

  9. Mattman says:

To me it is still the same problems that it had originally, just costs less up front than it did before. I still don’t want a cut down version of the Android OS, and reduced store…
