Modern Considerations

About this comic

One of the things I like about Star Wars is the fact that the language of the original films holds up really well today. None of the tech talk seems too crazy, and everything they use in the movies seems to have a real-world analog. But I can’t help thinking about how cell phones would solve a lot of issues in that universe. One thing lead to another, and boom: Comic.

UPDATE: The new site also means this: More comics more frequently. Right now the schedule is once a week, but I would really like to get back to 2 a week. I think the new digs will help me with that. 🙂

That’s exactly how I see Trek as well, especially TNG. They all carry tablets, but the main computers, and the rest of the tech is still futuristic, not just 80s/90s futuristic.

    ROFLMAO love it

  3. shieryma says:

Lol, pretty sure misspelling “aww” with “awe” was a thing of the day awhile back on TMS!

  4. Darrell says:

That’s also a great thing about TOS and S1-5 of TNG. Past that point, all hell broke loose with nonsensical technobabble which drives me CRAZY!!

  5. Vake Xeacons says:

Of course! Where do you think we got all that techno jargon and dohickies? PS. Scott, I love how Luke & Owen look like they’ve actually aged 35 years!

  6. Bill Murphy says:

Uncle Owen, must you ALWAYS give Luke a hard time?

  7. Better watch it Uncle Owen, there’s some grave misfortunes coming your way.

  8. Jack says:

  12. Retro says:

    Looks great on mobile!

  13. Jared says:

Great site redesign. Very clean. One thing I never understood is why the podcast tab at the top goes to a page that has another link to the actual podcast page. Why not cut the middleman out?
BTW this Star Wars strip is devoid of racial middle eastern stereotypes that I’ve come to know and love. Please bring them back.

  14. Darrell says:

Blah test blah lbah. Oops. Everyone criticuze me spulling of “blah”.

  15. coffeebot says:

Looks nice and clean. I’ll finally be able to catch up on all your older comics.

  16. Imzee says:

In the future, someone will build a night club called Tosche Station…
In the future, someone will invent a narcotic called Power Converters…

And Luke will look like a junkie…
