There has never been such thing as anonymity on the internet. I suppose the difference is now people are more comfortable openly sharing who they are.

As for buzz, I doubt it will become as popular as twitter. Let’s face it, it wasn’t the technophiles that made twitter what it is today. And buzz has some features that are squarely aimed at technophiles.

To be honest, I hope it doesn’t go mainstream… I like having some geek culture left untouched by the mainstream.

I was going to try Buzz… got to the final step to make a new account and they wanted to text the activation code to my personal cell phone. Like I want Google to have that.

Buzz wont catch on because twitter already exists.

by the way, you have to make it so the via email things are automagically unchecked, I keep forgetting to uncheck them and I get flooded with emails

The era of internet anonymity is over. For better or worse. You guys should address this on ELR pros and cons. I’ll be telling my daughter about how you used to go on the internet and nobody even knew who you were and you could get away with most anything. I guess it was only a thinly veiled illusion anyway.

It’s kind of creepy that other people know where I am, but on the plus side, at least now I know where I am. Now if it could just help me figure out how the hell I got here…
