He is using black and white for a reason in my opinion, it really expands the feeling of the comic. I’m not sure if I would say color would be best in this style of cartoon.
This is a great series; really shining work Scott. Unfortunately, I think it’s pitchforks and torches time for Bigfoot for running off with the girl. Hopefully he doesn’t accidentally drown her like Frankenstein’s Monster did.
The next part better not be, “Then the little girls parents find her. The dad being an avid hunter, guns down the beast that had kidnapped his daughter” or anything related to “Henry and the Hendersons.”
Many I come to this site for the laughs and instead Scott makes me want to cry! Men aren’t supposed to cry gosh darnit! Oh well. Scott you are a Master of your art!
Am I the only one who wants to see a “lighter” mood comic. This is a bit off course from what I usually expect from extralife. Its part of my bi-weekly routine to check your latest comic. As of late with ERL coming down..and now this “dark n’ sad” exile type comic must be a manifestation of that. Great and all Scott, but cmon man..enough boo -hooin and get back to making this site a great portal for us geeks.
I’m glad your indominable optimism won’t allow for it, but I don’t see why Scott can’t use this site as an outlet for whatever mood of comic he wants, regardless of what you usually expect. /shrug
I am enjoying it, as are many others. Also. if you read the blurb below the comic, it is ending this week, so just hold tight I guess.
Yep your right…Its his site, but I would imagine there is some financial gain for people to be driven toward the site. I always click on a link or what not to show some love. Again I have been an active site visitor since it was featured on gamespot YEARS ago.
It’s all good, we’re all on the same team here. I’m sure we’ll be back to regularly scheduled programming soon. This has been an interesting look at another side of Mr. Scott though.
Scott’s provided the world with epic win by the bucketload for a very long time, at absolutely no cost to us. He deserves — nay, he has earned — the right to mix things up every once in a while.
I would like to formally propose tomorrow as National Scott Johnson Appreciation Day. Who’s with me?
Beautiful story, very well done, I really really hope that I see more of this. Too many webcomics only have stupid sophomoric humour, this comic has some intellectual depth to it. Keep it up
Goddamnit I’m all emotional now
Just like Hachiko made me feel.
Someone has been playing Bioshock 2, or at least that’s the vibe I’m getting from this strip.
is this utah?
Wow, Scot goes deep.
Suits you well.
Really great comic Scott.
C!
Absolutelly in love with this. This is probably the best arc to ever grace Extralife. Amazing!
Absolutely hilarious. I wish they would have made a TV series out of this story. That would have been so much more fun than The Vampire Diaries.
Harry and the Hendersons.
and yes, it was much more fun than Vampire Diaries.
Awesome storyline, man. would like to see some color though

Awesome, as usual!
This is your finest work yet. By far.
Great series, Scott!
Awesome work, very emotional…. but why does the last panel look like he is taking a whizz off a cliff at first glance?
These strips are so adorable!! Huge “AWWWWW” factor.

I am loving this series, and really hope there is no joke at the end, just a serious ending, perhaps a strong philosophical meaning.
so heart warming Scott! I love this little detour
Very nice. It feels like a late Christmas story at this point, and the suspense is killing me. Heh heh. Very touching on the last line, keep it up!
Great one Scott, Very touching
Great one Scott, Very touching and Moving
Scott, you’re making me tear up reading this. It’s so touching. Keep it up man, can’t wait to see the spectacular ending you have in mind.

Yeah, I’m very curious to see how you’re going to conclude this one, Scott.
The pressure is on!
This is the stuff that makes me read the website.
There’s the funny cartoons and the odd melodramatic bizarre cute stuff .
I love it
Great as ever, Scott, really love this little ‘story arch.’
Some body call CPS on this kids parents.. lol..

I’m with you!!
Time for sleepy-time, Mr. Bubbles
AHA! Someone else sees it too!
This comic makes me feel sad. =(

I’m getting more and more afraid of how this is going to end.
