The controller in the pig’s hands confused me. That and the iron claws the duck has. I’m going to see Wolverine tonight, probably too much Wolverine on the brain.
They are not iron claws, they are rubber gloves over feathers.
And that is funny.
I was pegging Animal Farm myself at first. I guess since I don’t watch news on the TV I wasn’t thinking of the overblown hysteria that is the ZOMG END OF THE WORLD!!1!11!! swine flu. That said well played Scott, well played.

im with falcon on this one. even if you do watch the news, if you dont live in a state/country with a confirmed case, the way its so overblown paired with the “iron claws” rubber gloves and the addition of a pig playing Meat Fighter 4 for no apparent reason could leave one confused

I for one thought that the pig had gagged the duck up so he would shut up with his quacking and then put the hand restraining instruments on him so he wouldn’t be able to get the controller away from him.
Despite being an RN, I had to read the comments to understand. It may have something to do with having just worked for 17 hours straight, though.

I have to admit I didn’t get it when I first saw it. Somehow the face mask didn’t read to me, and the gloves seemed sharp, and I was wondering why the pig was in a chair holding a controller. That’s ok though, I don’t have to love every comic.
I’m with Lazarus on this one. I couldn’t figure out why the duck was wearing a metallic face mask and claws. It threw me off completely and I work at a large tourist destination in central Florida where I’ve been getting swine flu updates several times a day. I did laugh quite a bit once everyone here so kindly explained it for me though!
Hurray! Swine flu made it to my town! Their going to close down the schools! Hurray!
Took me a while to get it. But loved it when I did.
If they were medical blue instead of metalic grey than I think understanding would be instant. I think it’ll be even more misunderstood when it drops to the archives (assuming the flu scare dies down to a dim memory rather than becoming a major epidemic).

I was trying to figure out what new controller system had hands and a face-mote. I was thinking it was something to do with Wii for Ducks…yeah…..
Yep with Gary on this, was thinking Pigs had to use handheld controllers and Ducks got to use new VR controllers, hence the “Discrimination”.
I had to look at it 3 different times before it clicked. After that it was hilarious. Maybe a poor choice of coloring. I seriously thought the “gloves” were metal slip-on claws.
Anyone who has been watching the news or reading a paper in the last week should get this right off the bat. Awesome job to make it a topical comic Scott.

I thought it was the duck dressing up as a pig because the pig was discriminating against the duck for being a duck…
