District Mime

The movie really had an impact on me. So much so that I could not let a week go without at least one comic about it.

    Hilarious!

I agree with you, the movie had a huge impact on me too, this was one of the best I’ve seen in a while… glad to see a comic up about it on extralife already! =D

I was totally expecting a mime joke.

District 9 is the most thought-provoking movie for me since Linklater’s Waking Life.

The only sci-fi movie I liked better and made me think this year more was Moon. D-9 was great though, especially the first half and the gibs.

I hope you talk about it on ELR, really curious to hear your in depth opinion.

You know the movies about racism, right?

  7. MikeS

Yes, I know the movie is about racism… or is it Speciesism?

    Lol. My word exactly. :)

You liked it? It was way too long it had short snipets of any sort of real action, the close up on every face hid the background of the sets. The shaky camera and bad acting killed the mood. Turn it into a documentry about a snivling kiss ass with seriotypical americanized attitude towards other people and you have a movie who’s sole purpose is to rethink the wall between the US and Canada and Mexico.

Yes it has an interesting point, but seriously the movie was horrible to pay $12 for. I would have preferred to watch alone in the dark again. Okay … maybe not that bad.

But the jumping plot points and the constant “Oh hey we could throw this idea into the movie too” I can see this movie showing up on science theatre 5000.

small note: The film was over blurred, the sound cut out repeatedly and the whole movie was jittery in the theatre I saw it at. I complained and got my money back so my opinion is probably biased since I never got “into” the movie as I was probably supposed to.

So Mime=Hobo? That’s an insult to the art of being a Hobo! (That was my 4th grade Halloween Costume… Hobo. Not Mime. 5th grade was me missing half a face. Pretty neat, though some people thought it was a bit much for grade school. Wait. What were we talking about?)

I love when people like PurrNak post ranting, off-topic comments fraught with obvious spelling errors (i.e. snivling, seriotypical, who’s). It says a lot about the poster, no?
