A portable keyboard you can plug into an iPhone (or WiFi, even). It will take a lifetime to write the Great American Novel using one finger. While you’re at it, include extra battery power.
U guys have no idea how u were responsible for
SallySpa to hit number one. Then after I finished it I spent another
$10 trying to find something comparable.
There is nothing. Not even Sally herself could do it with SallySalon.
Any help?
Can you help me with putting an audiobook into my audiobook file on my IPHONE. It’s my own personal audiobook, didn’t get it on Itunes. It’s in a MPEG Layer 3 audio file. I can’t figure out how to have it appear in the audiobook portion of my IPHONE. It’s in my ipod portion in a playlist so it gets mixed up with all my music. I hate that, help me out please
Not too difficult to change a file to appear as an audio book. When you see the item in iTunes, you should right click on it and hit the GET INFO button. Go into options and select MEDIA KIND, and from there AUDIO BOOK. It will turn the file into an audio book and move it under that playlist in iTunes. When you sync, it will move the file on your iPhone to the right spot as well…
this showw rules, on the iphone, does anyone know how i can increase ring volume, i know its in general but its still very quiet. Or maybe theres a louder ringtone, thanks loads, lovee the show
Ok. Nearly every App you guys have reccommended has been awesome.
Until now.
Distant Shores. I like it. The concept is pretty cool. Like an anonymous Twitter. I enjoyed it for a while. Though it got annoying having to walk the beach. I would rather flick the screens. So I got a couple bottles. Answered some messages and sent some of my own. When I started getting hit on my 50 year men.
OMG you guys are hilarious. I actually laugh out loud, all by myself, listening to both of you. But, just as importantly, you are informative. I listen at work (shh) and I listen at home, while I’m at the App Store, checking out the apps you’ve recommended. I’m in Canada and the fact that you include speakers/listeners from other countries outside the U. S of A., is great.
For iphone app entertainment you gentlemen rule!

Hi guys,
your podcast is great. After listening to 8 hours of your podcasts, it’s hard to wait
for your next one in 1 week. When are you going to review apps like.. Screen wash or
wobbles? Any other good recommendations like those ones? What was the app where you called someone through your headphones called? The heat in Seattle is unbearable, but your podcast is awesome!
Can you please spell Eric’s twitter account username on your next broadcast. Apparently, it is neither hakito nor hockeytoe. Keep up the great podcast!
Due to you guys I’m going to try out Geocaching and Distant Shores. Those are just a few of the MANY apps I have gotten after hearing your down to earth reviews.
Thanks!!!
Listened to the show today! GREAT as usual. There is an app that does track apps like Appshopper. Its called Pandora Box and its FREE! Only it doesn’t do push notifications.
Just wanted to say, First time listener here and will continue after show #9. Was just wondering if you guys heard anything about a TOM TOM app for the Iphone? Also a great game i play is Galaxy on Fire, a bit on expensive side at $4.99 but hoping they will release v2 soon, check it out if you can.
Hey guys, I was really wanting to know if there is a good app to organize your photos. My album is becoming a mess and I need to find a good app to use, any ideas?
App for org photos
(foto safe) can create multiple albums BEWARE any pictures u delete in photo safe will be lost read instr. U can transfure photo back and forth from foto to iPhone to work on really great for org
Hey guys, loving the show. So far, you provide the best podcast I have found. A quick request: I have a job that I work 3 different shifts, and I would like to be able to quickly program my schedule into my phone. Do you know of any ways that I could do this without manually selecting a date, and having to mess with the scrolling wheels for every day I work? Like if I could set up a template that I could apply to each work day. Thank you!
The BIGWORDS.com iPhone app is saving my daughter hundreds of dollars on college textbooks. This app is so fast and easy to use. BIGWORDS combs the web for the best deals on ANY textbook — new, used, any edition, any language, even rental books. What we like is that one site does it all, and students can use it to buy the books they need wherever they are. We saved almost $300 on 5 books, got exactly what was needed, and they even shipped optimized for best prices. They even applied my daughter’s Barnes&Noble and Amazon discounts in the price comparison. The download is here: http://www.bigwords.com/iphone/
Hey guys. Love the show! Big fan of The Instance and ELR, as well as AppSlappy. I am looking to get an iPod touch soon and I was wondering if it can be tethered to a cellphone much like my Palm TX I have. I can dial phone numbers and send SMS messages on my Palm while it is connected to my cellphone via Bluetooth. This makes for more convenient use of 1 device instead of constantly swapping between the 2. Thanks again!
when i watch a movie or something on the iphone, the only way to delete the movie is when i got back home 2 the imac, but when i was looking at all my movies on the iphone, and i swiped on one of my movies to the right and a delete button came up, then i tapped on that delete button, and the movie was gone. what you think about that? that must be a good tip!!!!?
Excellent show! You guys make me laugh!!!! And the app reviews and apple gossip/opinions are cool. Wondering if you can help me out with a technical issue??? Today I was syncing my iPhone 3gs. The autmatic launch of iTunes didn’t occur as it normally does when I plug the phone into the USB jack. But the prompt for picture sync came up. I was goofing around with a sound generator app while the pictures sync’d. Had to retry to sync a bunch of pics. Then when it finished syncing picture I tried to run ANY app that I had installed from iTunes and they all show a quick splash screen then dump me back out to the main window where I select an app. No apps other than iPhone/Apple apps work. What should I do? Where do I get the low down on how to fix this?
Thanx!!! Wish you guys had a daily show!
@Rosemary Rodriguez on July 2nd asked: “Can you help me with putting an audiobook into my audiobook file on my IPHONE… I can’t figure out how to have it appear in the audiobook portion of my IPHONE.”
Just right-click on it in iTunes and select Get Info. Then go to the Options tab, click Media Kind, select Audiobook, and click OK. This will remove from your normal Music playlists, and it will appear under Audiobooks.
I missed you guys last week. I was on vacation and had WORLDS of time to listen, but guess what??? You didn’t show! Don’t skip another week. Hey, I can’t ever seem to get the free stuff… by the time I get to it (like FROGGER) the price goes up. But I still luv ya. My husband got me hooked.
For the 3Gs as least you can turn mono audio on by selecting Settings > General > Accessibility > Mono Audio > On
Is there a real forum for AppSlappy or just myextralife? You know you could do more than just redirect from appslappy.com to here! Maybe you should let Eric handle that.
Um, Scott? The escape the room type of games someone was asking about on this weeks podcast are readily found with a search in iTunes. iEscaper is one along with a series of games Escape 1, 2, 3, Room Escape, White House Escape, etc., etc.
I got the one you suggested, Boxed In. Not at all what the caller was looking for.
Try the ones I suggested, I have yet to.
Love the Show!

First I have to say your show is great, really enjoy the banter and all the info is great especially for a new iPhone & mac user like myself.
2 questions, firstly I’m in Australia on a capped plan with peak and off-peak periods. I was wondering if there is anyway I can schedule iTunes to do my podcast downloads in my offpeak (over night) period automatically, like the scheduler in uTorrent.
Second I was wondering if you could suggest any other great podcasts for a new iPhone/Mac user thats interested in getting to grips with the platform. I’m already subscribed to MacBreak weekly, TWIT and the Maccast but I was hoping for something with a nice informal setup like your show.
Having just discovered podcasts (am pretty tech savvy but have avoided macs for along time), I loving the format and keen to look @ podcasts in all my areas of interest.
Hey guys thanks again for the shout out on episode 19(all my friends are jelous). I was wondering if you guys would ever do a ps3 podcast of sorts all the other ones are sub-par and I think guys could make it fantastic. Also I know you guys mentioned this on a previous show but what are some good apps that keep track of Christmas gifts and such.
Thanks
