Holy crap. That’s incredible. But I’m curious as to how she got that past the FAA as that doesn’t seem like the kind of thing they’d allow. Wonder if she has some yolk-rudder combo or what.
I shall flex my recently certified flight instructor might and investigate!
Ah yes, the sport cert. I had a suspicion it would have something to do with that, but I’m not terribly familiar with the in’s and out’s of that one… And I tend to forget it exists. Homework assignment: activate!
And… they won’t let me fly because I had one seizure years ago… though it was a several-hour-long status seizure and it was just 5 years ago.
…
All in all (envy aside), make your dreams come true, Jess!
Also, the aircraft she is flying is an Aeronca. It is different from standard fixed-wing light aircraft in that it is without rudder controls (foot pedals). The rudders are mechanically coordinated with the yoke.
Still a fantastic achievement. Kudos!
What a coincidence! I was on the laptop on my sofa telling my wife about this and she asked me to repeat the woman’s name. Turns out my wife went to school with her in Tucson, AZ (I’m English and we live in the UK).
well you dont fly a plane with your feet because you have 2 arms/hands… but if you dont have hands then usingwhats to stop someome using their feet amazing woman.

Am I the only one that is thinking what I am thinking?
CWForney.
She has her LSA certification. Light Sport Aircraft.
Fixed gear, fixed wing. VFR conditions only, and she can NOT carry passengers.
All you need is a… “Driver’s License.” Well, and you have to become certified. The thing is, there is no provision that disallows her.

Gerardo, I’m pretty sure you began thinking what you are thinking when she opened the cockpit.
Gotta love that t-shirt
Damn, she is pretty awesome, black belt, pino, pilot all without arms, no wonder she is a motivational speaker.
*claps*
Outstanding! That is very cool. Like Scott said “Good for her”.
